Daily Inspiration 10-20-2009

Happy Tuesday everybody!
back from Japan and still in a bit of a jet lag, hope everyone had a great last month!
It's been a real eye opener last month, taking in some great sights, great experiences, and of course great food from Japan!
Missed creating these daily inspirations, probably a bit rusty in creating them again =0)

Daily Inspiration Picture(s):
So I thought i might post some pictures from my trip on this inspiration section...I'll post different ones each day. Hope you all enjoy them.
(and I apologize ahead of time if i flood your inbox with too many large images)

My first full day there, I went to the Tokyo Game Show, where the theme was “Game, It’s so energetic!”
So this first shot is me following the line that went all the way around the whole convention center to get in...
took about an hour of walking around the whole convention center before i finally got to go in because of the amount of people! The gray cement building, on the left side, that's one of the buidlings containing 3 halls in it...
and there were 3 of those massive buildings separated by the huge space in between them from the pic above!! (so a total of about 9 halls)

This next photo shows about 1/4 of one of the display venues...and yes, this was during the non-busy moments since you can still see the ground from this photo.
A typical booth, that's two story high, with about 30 consoles upstairs and about 20 downstairs for gamers to try out different games. Average wait times to try out the
newest and latest games was about 60 minutes to 150 minutes to play about 3 to 5 minutes i think? i didnt' wait...
A typical giant screen display that was everywhere in all the halls! This was for the XBOX...the screen is MASSIVE, just compare it to a person's head from the photo =0)
oh yeah, and if you want to buy official souvenirs, there's also a line up to get to the store/booth to buy stuff! Shortest time I saw was about a 45 minute wait!
and each company's store had their own line ups and stores =0/
remember the 1st photo? here is a pic of it during mid day when it was really busy...there were cosplay happening here...and inside the buildings
were just as busy!

Really displays the true dedication Japanese are to their gaming. They ssee it as more than a past time, or just entertainment. It's part of their life and culture. The inspiring
thing I found was the amount of creative games and display booths there. Also the way games influence their lives and fashion and culture, quite a sight to see. There were games
there that would not even make it pass the "paper and pencil" stage in other places because it would be too "out there" or it wouldn't turn a profit.

Just a statistic of how busy it was there, the day i went the door opened at 9 and closed at 5. In that time, over 61,000 people attended!! The next day, which I didn't go, over
71,000 people went!! (and this was 10,000 people less than last year)

Great experience, but just way too crowded for me...ended up going to a beach 15 minutes walk away from there, not white sand but the quietness was well worth it =0)
